I read this today: “God won’t help me do my will, but He’ll gladly help me do His will.”

So many of my God issues were related to Him not helping me with my problems. I now know that was because He wanted me to focus on my spiritual fitness. So long as I spent my energy doing my will, God stood back and let me have a go at it (unsuccessfully I might add). When I put my efforts into doing God’s will, things changed. My problems have not all gone away, but I can better deal with them now.
