Notes From the Central Office

We are once again asking that checks sent to the Central Office be accompanied by a brief note or explanation on the check telling us the purpose of the check, money order, or cash. For example, group donation, personal donation, or literature order.

We have acquired additional office space, which was sorely needed. Sincere thanks to the local members who came in on a Saturday and helped with the big move.

We are still receiving inquiries from the “Dear Abby” letter, but not in the quantity we did in months past.

All groups that have Post Office Boxes or answering services, please keep us up-to-date. We can then send this information to first inquiries without fear of anyone losing their anonymity.

General Information

Foreign Meetings?

We have heard there are SA meetings in India and Egypt. If anyone has particulars, please let us know at the Central Office.

First-Timers Meetings?

We ask that any groups that have come up with special formats for first-timers meetings share them with the Central Office. We have no suggested guidelines for conducting special meetings for inquirers, but there is a growing need for this. If your group has one that is working for you, please send it in. In other words, what is your procedure with newcomers (inquirers) meetings? How do you conduct the meeting and who leads and participates?

Recovery Continues

It is anticipated that Recovery Continues and Member Stories—1989 will be available from the Central Office in February 1990.
