SA has been meeting twice a week for 18 months now. By the grace of God, we have a solid core of sobriety and recovery, with two members over 12 months, two over six months, and three over three months. We focus strongly on the literature at each meeting, reading from the White Book, the Twelve & Twelve, and the AA Big Book. Sunday night is a theme meeting and Wednesday night is the Steps. We are very clear with newcomers about the sobriety definition. Sponsorship is just starting but we do have a strong informal network between members. Recently we organized a P.O. Box and an answering service.

SA now has its own telephone line, 514-489-5105; this number is also listed with the Referral Center of Greater Montreal. Every three months a One-Day Convention is organized in Montreal, in French. These One-Day Conventions are held on a Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at 4441 Decarie Blvd. (corner of Cote St-Luc Road). There are rooms available for those who would like to attend but come from out of town. The last two One-Day Conventions were attended by about 15 people and were very well-liked. The next One-Day Convention will likely be held in early October 1994. Should anyone want to attend from Quebec City, Hull or another town or province, please call 514-489-5105.
