“AHA!” MOMENTS VIDEO SERIES

ESSAY proudly presents “AHA! Moments”, a series of videos that features an original installment for each issue of the ESSAY Magazine. Consisting of SA Stories of Discovery, and brought to life with sound effects, character voices, music and visual media, “AHA! Moments” promises to be a unique and insightful approach for carrying our message of recovery.

“The Angry Therapist and the Oreo” Our video series continues with this story about a member who is confronted by a bitter mental health professional regarding SA’s sobriety definition. In response, the member’s defense utilizes other 12 Step Fellowships and a surprising—and inoffensive—-little cookie.

“THE JOY OF SERVICE.” — The fourth video in our “Aha!” Moments series tells how one member made a powerful—yet simple—connection between how much certain members were filled with joy … and how they viewed the importance of their service to the newcomer. Watch “The Joy of Service” and then learn more about other members’ stories of joy in this month’s issue of the ESSAY magazine!

The third video in our “Aha!” Moments series, “Best Friends” tells about a wonderful surprise that was discovered by one member in early sobriety. An unexpected and spontaneous best friendship evolved one day, when he decided to invite someone very special to play with him at the park.

This is not an official SA video. “Joe Starts a Meeting” is the 2nd installment of “Aha Moments”, ESSAY Magazine’s new video series. Different from our first video (about visiting a fellow member in prison), this one is an explainer video, showing specifically how one member started a meeting. If you’d like more information about how to start a meeting in your area, be sure to watch “Joe Starts a Meeting” and then contact SA’s Central Office to get you in touch with the right committees.
