COMING IN AUGUST

Our next edition’s theme is “Happy, Joyous, and… Single.” We look forward to exploring the joys of recovery while single. Is that even possible? Absolutely. Numerous members who are single for some time or for the rest of their lives live “happy, joyous, and free.” However, ESSAY is your magazine and it is your experience, strength, and hope that carries the message of recovery to the still suffering sexaholic. Please consider sharing your experience with the fellowship by submitting an article to essay@sa.org.

August 2025 edition: Happy, Joyous, and … Single (Stories due July 1) 

What a happy and joyous discovery to learn that being single was not a problem to be fixed! Rather, it is a gift to be celebrated in recovery, whether I am single for some time or the rest of my life. How has recovery enriched your single life? 

October 2025 edition: Surrendering Shame (Stories due September 1) 

How has shame blocked your recovery? What helped you learn to let go of your shame and surrender it to your Higher Power?

December 2025 edition: The Great Fact (Stories due November 1) 

We carry the greatest message to those despairing in their lust addiction. There is a Great Fact for all of us, which is nothing less than a “deep and effective” experience changing our whole life. This Fact is there for all who are honest, open, and willing. What does this Fact look like in your recovery?

February 2026 edition: Humility and Surrender (Stories due January 1)

How has being right-sized and letting go opened you up to receive the promises of sobriety and recovery?
