[A member in Germany shares his concerns about length of sobriety required for voting in SA business meetings.]

I felt the hurt of not being allowed to vote when I was sober for less than 30 days.… The 30-day rule should be read in this way before any votes are made:

“Only those members may vote who are sexually sober for 30 days or more, according to the definition of SA. We understand that some members feel hurt by this. We ask those members with less than 30 days of sobriety to understand that our common welfare comes first, and before the welfare of the individual.”

We should act with understanding and love for those members who are sober for less than 30 days. They need it; maybe they need it more than we do. And we should explain the reason. This will decrease the amount of anger and resentment during business meetings (at least I hope so).
