There has been a surge of interest in SA for unity through representation. Many are asking how they can start an intergroup or communicate with other people in their region. The answers will come; the key is willingness and an open mind. Every area can do what best suits their current situation. The overall goal is to have each SA group represented in their respective regional assembly this year. Whether a state has one or 100 groups it should be represented. A state with 100 groups will probably have several intergroups and hence several intergroup reps at their regional assembly. Oklahoma, for example, has one intergroup, with less than 12 groups represented from around the state. The purpose of the service structure is to carry the message, provide information and communication from the group to the Central Office in an orderly democratic manner. Until the service structure is underway the committee needs representation from three regions to aid the fellowship in this task. Representatives are needed from 1) the Northeast region: Que, Ont, NB, ME, VT, NH, NY, CT, RI, MA; 2) Mid-Atlantic region: PA, DC, MD, NJ, OH, VA, WV, DE; and 3) Southeast region: IN, KY, TN, NC, SC, MS, AL, FL, PR, GA.

Representatives are volunteer trusted servants with at least two years sobriety.
