In Luke’s article, “The Carousel of Self”, he describes the back-and-forth, the ups and downs of living in selfishness. There seems to be no steady flow of peace in the attempt to always stay “up”. 

Can you identify with the constant emotional jolts that come with seeking the outcomes that you want? Even if you got what you wanted, could you stay in that “up”? And when you came “down” in disappointment, fear, anger, or loss, was it a soft landing or a crushing blow?  

How has surrendering to God’s will helped you in times of chaos to get off that destructive ride? What ESH do you have for those who are still hurting after turning to God’s will many times?
