We are enjoying the new format and the expanded content of the Essay newsletter. The articles on successful SA meetings (focusing on the solution) and on sponsorship were especially welcomed. They offer constructive suggestions on how to strengthen and enhance our commitment to recovery.
The White Book of SA tells us that the “fellowship of sobriety is where the action is, where the magic is, where the feeling of identification is, where the real Connection is” (p. 66). We have found that it is not simply fellowship or friendship that we need, but the specific “fellowship of sobriety.” Amazing grace and love are found in this common journey with our brothers and sisters who have surrendered and seek progressive victory over lust.
Thanks to all who have gone ahead and pointed the way for us. We know we can never be sufficiently grateful, but we can endeavor to point the way to others by living changed lives in recovery. May God grant us the courage to do so.
