As always, my deepest thanks to you and the Central Office staff for all your hard work and dedication to this life-saving program of Sexaholics Anonymous. Without your efforts, passing the message on, something very necessary for my sobriety and indeed my very existence, would be very difficult. I want to reiterate my appreciation and ask God’s Blessing on you all at the Simi Valley office.

…I also want to thank you for contacting your Houston group. Jerry W. has been writing and showing his support. He has even driven the 60 miles to attend two of our meetings. He brought along another SA member from Galveston. We do sincerely appreciate his moral support. Jerry W. is talking about helping to set up a meeting at the Darrington Unit of Texas Department of Corrections. That will make number four for TDC. I would like to see the day come when every one of the 30 units in TDC offered some kind of program to help the sexual offenders. I just wanted to bring you up-to-date and let you know we are all pulling for you and SA. We do appreciate the support of the Home Office and all the work you all do on our behalf.

Although I wanted to send money last year at your request, I was unemployed. I lost a very responsible position developing programs for dysfunctional families, after 13 years sobriety from chemical dependency. The stress of leaving home in Minnesota, new job pressures, and rainy coastal weather contributed to my “dry drunk syndrome.” The real problem was compulsive self-reliance perpetuated by the walls built between myself and God due to habitual sin. However, I did not realize it at the time. Following termination from my position, I decided to give up sex altogether on the “blind faith” that God might change me from within. I have achieved several three-month periods of sobriety and now have over four months. The positive results have been overwhelming as I am “on fire” with the Holy Spirit. Total abstinence, regular SA meetings, and a growing mustard seed of faith have given me the beginning of a new life, better job, and total personality transformation. God is so great, so generous, and so forgiving. Praise God!

By the grace of God, I’m living an absolute miracle. 23 months sober today. I who was not sober. I who came with “half a day” sobriety. I pray for the willingness to surrender my arrogance and conceit, my fear and distrust, among the many defects that lust has been covering most of my life.

God bless. Life is progressing beautifully, one day at a time. I’m so thankful for the fellowship, and for my growth, because of the 12-Step program. Since I started going to SA, I also go to AA, OA, and ACOA. Since the Nashville conference, I go to S-Anon. The reason being I’m an adult child of a sexaholic (ACOS). In all, I go to 11 meetings a week. Always an opportunity to share and hear from some recovering people. Thanks for all you do.

Several months past, I had the good fortune of coming across an article in the newspaper giving little information on the SA organization.… Since then, I have written SA a number of times to get a deeper understanding of its functions. In return, SA has given me invaluable insight. The literature which I’ve already received is most inspiring. I’ve come to find that celibacy isn’t so bad after all. My profound thanks to such wonderful people for your guidance and generosity.
