Finance Report

We are grateful to our members for our excellent 2012 financial results. We finished the year on target compared to budget! Five years ago, the fellowship used Prudent Reserve to meet payroll. Since then, members have stepped up to meet our needs and replenish the Prudent Reserve.

Finance Report

Dear SA Fellowship: For years, our fellowship was struggling to balance the budget, and we relied on the Quarterly Appeal to build our prudent reserve. Since then, our members have stepped forward to build a strong financial base. Recently however we have seen a slight softening of member contributions to SAICO, reflecting a shift toward addressing local service needs during these hard times.

Finance Report

Dear Fellow SA Members, 2011 was financially a very good year for SAICO operations. We finished the year with a $4,088 net gain compared to a budgeted $4,300 net loss. Total revenue exceeded budget by just under $15,000 (6.4%). Increased literature sales and ESSAY subscriptions accounted for $12,500 of the revenue excess. Convention revenues accounted for the remainder.

Finance Report

Hi all, A personal highlight from this year’s GDA was sharing how our Higher Power has once again ensured the financial health of our fellowship. In quiet that morning, I’d read “We have ceased fighting anything or anyone. . . . We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality—safe and protected” (AA 84-85).

The fellowship again fell short of budget projections for revenue from contributions—not surprising in light of the current economy. Catching this trend early in 2009, the Finance Committee, Trustees, and SAICO discussed reducing staff hours and cancelling salary increases.

One day I realized that although I had spent generously on my addiction, I’d been pretty stingy with my giving in recovery meetings. The selfishness and denial that had blinded me to lust also blinded me to greed.

What’s Going On in SA

Dear Fellow SA Members: I’ve asked Dave Mc., Finance Committee member, to take my space this month to provide a brief overview of the 2008-2009 budget. We are grateful for the service of all Finance Committee members.
