A Prayer for Working with Others
I wrote this prayer to help me when I’m working with others; it’s adapted from chapter seven of Alcoholics Anonymous.

These thoughts from the AA Big Book run through my mind nearly constantly: “Every day is a day when we must carry the vision of God’s will into all of our activities. How can I best serve Thee—Thy will (not mine) be done” (85). And, as emphasized on the same page, this is the proper use of my willpower.
Dear Heavenly Father, Give me self-worth to replace my selfishness, and self-esteem to replace my self-centeredness.
My Lord, I thank you for again providing us the opportunity to come together, to share, to help and be helped.
Morning Surrender Prayer Lord, I surrender my lust and ask you to keep me sober from my lust today because I cannot; but by your strength, I can.
My loving Father, How did I “come to believe” that You could restore me to sanity? Actually, You know that I’ve known that for a long time. I came to believe that You wanted my healing even more than I did. It was part of the faith I was taught, but it was hidden until it became real to me in a moment of insight years ago; You know how it happened.
Lord God, I pray for all the fellows in SA; For everyone who gathers and begins with a prayer for serenity,
God grant me the sobriety to seek the truth from you; the faith to trust the answer; and the strength to follow through.
