The Tool of Absolute Honesty

The Tool of Absolute Honesty

00:00

Today while traveling back to my home, my scheduled flight was delayed and there was a high probability I would miss my connecting flight. As I was checking in, I saw a flight leaving in 20 minutes and wondered if I could run to the gate and see if I could get on this earlier flight going to the same destination. As I checked my luggage in, the agent asked if I had any lithium batteries in my bag. I said, “No,” as I wanted to make it to the service counter to see if I could jump on the earlier flight.

As I walked away I thought about my phone charging battery pack that was in my suitcase. I had stored it in my luggage many times in the past. The thought came to mind, Dennis you have to be 100% honest. The man asked you that question. I said to myself, If I go back I will miss my opportunity to possibly get on the earlier flight.

My Tenth Step came to mind, continue to watch for dishonesty being one of them. So I turned around and went back to see if my luggage was still on the conveyor belt. It was not; it had already gone into the system. I paused, and then I went and told the agent there was a battery pack in my luggage. He said he would have to go back into the area to get my luggage.

After some time he brought my luggage back and I removed the battery pack. I knew there was no way to make it to the gate now having to go through security as well. I thought, Oh well. So I went through security and started running for the gate which was the last one at the end of the terminal.

When I was about half way there, there was an airline agent running in my direction (odd). She said, “Are you going to Dallas on the later flight that was delayed?” I said, “Yes I am and I was hoping to get out on the earlier flight.” She said, “Keep running, I will let them know you are coming.” I got there and they printed a new ticket and I got on and made it to the next leg of my trip early.

God is good; I had to be honest even if it meant I would miss my opportunity. I felt God’s Presence in this. After arriving I walked through the airport to my next gate and saw a temptation. I prayed, “God I am powerless, I need your Power, and I know 100% you will remove …” Couldn’t even finish the prayer and I was free, completely removed, erased from my mind. Today I get to walk free because I started out being absolutely honest, one of the Four Absolutes, and continued use of my Tenth Step. God Bless.
